  • "I was lucky to find Dr. Paul Worsey..."

In 2010 I was representing Fred Weber Inc., one of the largest highway contractors in the State of Missouri. Weber owned a quarry on the west side of Interstate Highway near St. Louis, MO. Weber was being sued by 6 homeowners living on the east side of the highway who claimed that blasting in the quarry had on several specific occasions caused damage to either or both of the foundation and walls of their homes. After doing some research I was lucky to find Dr. Paul Worsey, and retained him as an expert witness.

Paul’s testimony to the jury was most importantly clear and informative, but also lively and engrossing, explaining his testing, methodology, calculations and conclusions, thereby leaving the jury with an understanding as to why the shockwaves produced by the blasting at the quarry could not have had sufficient force by the time they reached plaintiff’s homes to have caused the type of damage that the plaintiffs claimed. Based predominantly on Paul’s testimony the 12 jurors voted unanimously in favor of Weber. After the trial I spoke with several of the jurors, each of whom gave a glowing a review of Paul’s testimony.

Having tried jury cases for 40+ years and having heard the testimony of scores of expert witnesses I would consider Dr. Paul Worsey in the top handfull in appealing to and educating jurors, thereby leaving them convinced that they were doing the right thing by finding in favor of my client.
